LA Fire Stories
Why this platform was created
On the night of January 7, the last moments of daylight had stained the sky blood red, sunlight mixing with the smoke from the Eaton fire. The next morning, we got the order to evacuate. For five days, preparing for the worst, we waited out our evacuation period. The whole time, my feed was filled with tragic stories from classmates, teachers, and even family. Though the Eaton fire never reached our house, the Palisades fires ravaged the place that my family had over 40 years of history in, and where I spent my entire childhood. Hearing about my grandparents' house and my old house being burnt down has left our family with a feeling of emptiness and sorrow.

I recognize each home is not just a physical structure, but a vessel of memories and emotions for those who inhabit it. This is why I've created a platform where those who have experienced loss from the LA Fires can share their stories.
My goal is to provide a space for individuals to express the emotions intertwined with their stories. Through this platform, I hope to build a deeper sense of empathy within the community and help gather resources for those affected.
